This expansion and renovation of the Mayo Civic Center included a new 25,560 square-foot exhibition hall, new lobby for the Rochester Civic Theatre, and new pre-function area connecting the existing facilities to the Rochester Civic Theatre (RCT) and the new exhibition hall.
It was planned to create a new image for the civic center complex, provide the appropriate meeting and pre-function areas to handle medical conventions for the Mayo Clinic, and enhance the patron support facilities for the RCT. The use of a large curtainwall clerestory provides excellent natural lighting of the pre-function area and enhances its use as an additional function space.
This project was completed by Kenneth M. Betsch, AIA, while a Managing Principal for Odell Associates, Inc. in association with TSP, Inc.
