This retail village was developed in multiple phases, including 23,800 square feet of specialty shops in the first phase, and 33,170 square feet of specialty shops in the second phase. Key design features for these first phases included the creation of a public gathering space that provided a focal point for the development and the use of varied façade treatments and materials for each storefront to create a "main street" image.
Subsequent phases included a new neighborhood prototype Walmart in conjunction with 20,065 square feet of additional specialty shop space, a Kohl's Department Store, and perimeter restaurant and bank out-parcels. For both the Walmart and Kohl's stores, Betsch Associates served as the design coordinator for the Town to develop the exterior skin for each of the retailer's standard buildings into an approved final design.
